Get to know the arts at MIT! Explore resources, events, workshops, and connect with fellow MIT art lovers.

Join the Art, Culture, and Technology (ACT) program, Arts at MIT, Department of Architecture, Comparative Media Studies / Writing, List Visual Arts Center, and Morningside Academy for Design (MAD) for an evening of art, food, and fun.

Check out the List Center galleries and enter the lottery to borrow a work of art, meet student artists, and learn more about MIT’s robust arts community. The evening culminates with a dance party in the E15 ACT Cube.

Register in advance or on site (E15, first floor/Atrium Level). This event is open to the MIT community. Attendees must show either a passport or state ID to be served alcohol. Capacity is limited; re-entry will be permitted as space allows.

Student Lending Art Program Exhibition

Building E15, Atrium Level

Since 1977, the SLAP Exhibition and Lottery has provided MIT students the enviable opportunity to borrow, appreciate, and live with a museum quality work of original art for the academic year.

This program is free for all current MIT undergraduate and graduate students.

Film Screening: MIT in 3:00

View finalist films from the 2023 and 2024 MIT in 3:00 video competition, an initiative of the program in Comparative Media Studies / Writing.

Explore work by students in the Art, Culture, and Technology program at MIT.

Art Project Demos

Building E15, Lower Level

Explore interactive artistic work by students and faculty, and learn more about the many resources available to help make your art project ideas a reality.

Spatial Mixtape

ACT Cube, Building E15, Lower Level

Experience quadraphonic recordings of both historical pieces and recent works by local artists, hosted by the Spatial Sound Lab.

8pm

Dance Party

ACT Cube, Building E15, Lower Level

The evening culminates in a dance party hosted by ACT, featuring MIT DJs and a special dance performance by Ridonkulous.

Attendees must show either a passport or state ID to be served alcohol.

Morningside Academy for Design (MAD)

An interdisciplinary hub for design

Focused on design education, research, and entrepreneurship, MAD weaves in science, engineering, architecture and planning, the humanities, and business, to create an environment where design becomes a catalyst for positive change. While serving the entire Institute, MAD is home to three makerspaces (Metropolis, The Deep, N52 Fabrication Shop) and MITdesignX.
